Dear Friends,

Yesterday night I was went with my friends, Gary Wallace and Mercy Wallace to KJRI-Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (Consulate General of Republic Indonesia) for celebrating Natal Bersama 2011 KJRI (Christmas Celebration Party 2011 Consulate General of Republic Indonesia) placed in 10900 Richmond Avenue, Houston, Texas 77042

The days before I was feeling not too good but somehow at yesterday afternoon I felt good enough to attend. The event was starting from 05:00 - 09:00 PM. Almost of the guests are the Indonesian peoples. But they're some foreign from Houston was coming also. This event was organized by Indonesian peoples who stayed and live here.

Dinner's time after Christmas service/ worship time. Very impressive dinner.
The food taste was good also.

I would like to share the pictures and some comments also at that time. The Christmas celebration starting on 05:00 PM. Off course not every peoples was came right time. But I think the event was succeed enough. Many peoples came, met the another friend, talking, singing, and dinner's time. Don't forget about take pictures time. Hehehe. A brief explanation about The Consulate-General of Indonesia, Houston will be find in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consulate-General_of_Indonesia,_Houston

Garudayana, a wood statue (I think?) inside after entering the entrance door.

CCTV monitor display in front desk. Special for today, the 'security guys' was those kids. Hehehe.

Let's come inside. We'll see what happened at that time. First all, was the Christmas service/ worhsip. It just one hour. Somehow I felt sleepy. Please don't ask why. Hahaha.

The view of Christmas service/ worship time inside.
The light was not good for my digital pocket camera.

After 06:00 PM was the dinner's time. Everybody look so happy and off course that's mean for me, I can take more pictures (as exercise for myself to make a better pictures. Hehe). The dinning area was placed outside the ballroom or the main place for Christmas service/ worship.

The atmosphere inside the Consulate at the dinner's time.

Dinner's time. Everybody look happy. I like this picture.

Another table full of food also.
They served rice, macaroni pasta, beef, tilapia fish, chicken and vegetables.

My friend, Gary Wallace and Mercy Wallace at dinner's time.

The question maybe how about me when the dinner's time. Honestly I was going around and take pictures before take my dinner. I loved to see the peoples expression when they're talking, make a joke, waiting for foods, or maybe just sitting. I was going outside from the building to see how the Consulate look like. Those are the pictures:

The cars in the Consulate-General parking area. Many of cars.

Listening the Christmas choir song when another peoples take a dinner.

A bouquet in the middle one of dinner's table. I like this picture.

Another door to the Consulate building (taken from the outside on the dinner's time).

Take a rest and take a dinner's food. Another area inside the Consulate building.

Every body talking. Well maybe meet another old friends here. Hehe.

A view to the corner. Crowded peoples. Peoples dressed with red color (specially for womens).

The situation in another area I guess they're the committee for this event.
Looks busy but seems happy :-).

And this is my dinner's food. More or less it's good ^^.

After the dinner's time, me and my friends, Gary and Mercy Wallace was going around and met another friend. I was taking pictures also for that time. Here's some good pictures:

Well, that's it my friends. We're not following the celebration until finished. Around 08:00 PM I think, we're leaved the Consulate building. That was a good time to meet each other, taste the Indonesian food and made some good pictures. Maybe next year or maybe another we can meet each other and celebrate the Christmas party again together.

Thanks to read this blog: Natal Bersama 2011 KJRI - Christmas Celebration Together 2011 Consulate General of Republic Indonesia. Happy weekend and have a nice day ^^!

Galleria Jilid 2 (Galleria Part 2)

Dear Friends,

The P2M2 training here will be end on this Friday. Everybody must be happy. It almost two tests and we all can be going home happily. Well, somehow for me a little bit has a feeling kind a lost of this place. Maybe about the training, about friends and maybe about the hotel too. You know, one month stay here is not easy. But so far we're enjoyed. Hehehe.

Last Sunday, 11 Dec 2011 some friends and me went to Galleria (again). We're just going around for shopping and I so far I remembered we're going after lunch time. It was four of us, me, Souvik Sengupta, Reim Emam, and Ali Hussain Al-Muallim. We're going on there by yellow cab (taxi) as usual here. Not too much things we did on there. It just go around and buying some stuffs.

I took some good pictures on there. Galleria sure it a big mall. And we're enjoying there. Here's some pictures at that time:

A picture I got in the front of dress rental shop.

My friend, Souvik Sengupta and the girls - he looks so nervous :p.

First coming, Reim wants to drink a coffe and while she's ordering the coffe and Ali was going somewhere to buy an external hard disk, me and Soufik was taking some pictures. Later, Reim also join with us.

My friend, Reim and Souvik in the front of a coffee shop.

My friend, Reim, and me in the front of a coffee shop.

We met Ali after 4 PM and after that we're going together and take pictures again. We did bought something. But almost all the time we spend just to walking and looking around.

The Three Musketeers? Hehehe. Me, Souvik and Ali.

Me, Reim and Souvik. A little bit tired after walking around.

When we're walking we found a artificial tree with lamps. The idea was simple. But took a picture beside that tree was good I think. Here some pictures results:

Two brothers - Ali and Souvik.

Ali, Soufik and Reim. I like the way how they were posing there. So calm.

Took a picture beside a lightning tree. Alone.

After that we go again and found a Tesla car stand shop. Tesla is an electric car based. The site is: http://www.teslamotors.com/. I got two pictures on there. Hehehe.

Front view Tesla car. I can not see the camera. Hahaha.

Side view. Look's cool, isn't it?

Then Reim found a chocolate shop. Actually that is not a pure chocolate but a strawberry fruit coated with chocolate. Reim look so desperate to take one of that strawberry-chocolate. Hehehe. And those are the pictures as she requested:

Looks at cute strawberry chocolate things.. Hemm yummy ^^.

''Emm.. I am thinking.. I am thinking.. Buy or not.. Buy or..."

Almost go home we came to the downstairs. Souvik and Reim found an interesting spot to take pictures. I must admit Souvik is kind a photo-lover-self. He push me to take his picture always. Hahaha. Here's the results:

A happy 'couple' model - Souvik and Reim. Hehehe.

With a landscape mode.

A 'simple' Christmas for me ^^.

Finally almost 7.30 PM and looks all the shop were going to close. The last moment before we go from there I took two pictures with a giant Christmas tree inside the mall. Really a big one tree. Here's the pictures:

Reim and the big Christmas tree.

Me and the big Christmas tree.

Well, so far all of us came back safely at that night almost 9 PM I think. And then lesson learn at that time, if you want to go to the Galleria and spend much time there, better to go back before 7:30 PM. A bit difficult to find a yellow cab (taxi) and somehow better to go back early is to avoid from you know, a 'tricky' driver that wants more money and just going with another route back than a normal route.

That's it, Friends. Thank you for reading this blog Galleria Jilid 2 (Galleria Part 2). Have a nice day!

Houston, Sugar Land and Wharton - Once Upon A Time

Dear Friends,

I would like to share about the activities on Saturday, 10 Dec 2011. Yesterday I went with my good friend Gary Wallace and Mercy Matondang Wallace to places named Sugar Land and Wharton, TX for recreation. Mercy was picked me up from La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston - Westchase around 11:20 AM. Surprisingly she gave an awesome gift for my birthday last 5 Dec: a Foursquare original hoddie in XL sized.

Thanks to Mercy Matondang Wallace for this awesome birthday gift :-)!

Pose beside a Christmas tree inside the La Quinta Hotel Inn & Suites.

Taken directly outside of the hotel. The wind little bit strong at that day.

First place we're going was to Sugar Land, TX. A brief explanation I have found about Sugar Land is on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_Land,_Texas. We're going to markets named Whole Foods and Kroger. In Kroger I took some money from ATM for myself but in Whole Foods we did a shopping times in there. When you say shopping times it means not only buying and looking around not for buying a bags, a favorite  electronics spend some money etc but also buying something you need in example some coffee, wine's, some foods and something like that. The Whole Foods market has it's own website in http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/sugarland/ and for the maps is in http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/store-locations/?storeabbr=SGL#map_top.

A wine's corner inside Whole Foods.
Pretty much impressive and ever seen anything like that before.

Some ornaments hanging on the wall. I like the way they design and placed in.

Salad and salads. Salad is good and I must try to enjoy and familiarize consume it.

Hands sanitizer. If you need to clean up your hands with this.

After buying some needs we have go walk outside come back to car. But I think the good looking around outside the market was pretty awesome and it will be good to take some pictures. Here's the result:

I like the structure looking looks like. And they put chairs and table outside also for guests.

A park outside the market.
Pedestrian can safety and enjoy walking through and it has a good view also.

In the front of the Whole Foods - Sugar Land market, they have an artificial fountain.

With Gary Wallace. We're not a hostile :-). When you see our glasses was black it because of the sun was shinny outside. But the temperature as usual in the winter was cold.

Then we back to car and ready to go to Kroger. But in the middle of the way, not far from Whole Foods market, the traffic lights was on and we have stopped a while. I got some pictures at that moment:

Waiting for the green lamp turned on. Looks how neat and regular they were.
Well what I said it was a good behavior to obey the rules somehow in the street.

The Sugar Land police car. Good looking.

Going to Kroger in Sugar Land. We're not shopping anymore just take some cash money and back to car to continue our way to Wharton, TX. Kroger itself has own website and if you like you can find it in http://www.kroger.com/Pages/default.aspx. I didn't took the pictures much because it's just look like a common market in America. I just  took two pictures in the Kroger-outside and inside:

Welcome to Kroger marketplace. Even you need a sofa, you can buy in Kroger here also.

Charged for every time you take cash about $2.95 here. More or less it around $3 in another ATM machine. Don't forget see the "VISA" or "Master Card" logo before you use.

In Wharton, TX the first stop place we're in was a restaurant. Absolutely because at that moment was in lunch time around 1 PM I think). The restaurant is a country-restaurant they said here. Because it's history and decoration is a country everywhere. Before talking about the restaurant, the first thing is talked about the Wharton, TX. It has official website in: http://www.cityofwharton.com/ and the city limits map is  http://www.cityofwharton.com/images/citylimits.pdf. It was a good state I think. Well not too crowded like Houston but so far if you like a quite but good place maybe you must considering to visit this place.

The country-restaurant I mentioned before has named Hinze's BBQ. They called BBQ because it looks almost all the best menus here is BBQ. Remember cowboy, deer, meat, hat, BBQ and others attributes from country sign? It has here. And not stopped about menus, if you like wearing the t-shirt, they have the original one marked by them self (with restaurant named and the bull head sign) and you can buy here. This restaurant is famous around here and what my friends told me, they didn't open any branch restaurant outside, except the only and one in here. The official site for this country-restaurant is: http://www.hinzesbarbque.com/. And you can find Hinze's BBQ also in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hinzes-BBQ/144821648894068.

A video about Hinze's BBQ I have found in Youtube taken on 2008.
You can see the way surrounding go there and how the place look like.

My country-lunch menu: a ribs steak, bread, sausage, smashed potatoes, some beans and pickles.

Inside the restaurant. After finish take a lunch.

Hinze's BBQ parking area. It's quite here but many cars was coming.

In the front of Hinze's BBQ country-restaurant.

Then after we're finished the lunch and took pictures, we're ready to go to my friend, Gary Wallace his great grandfather house in Wharton, TX. The road typically like in the village-long and many areas was fill with grass. Not many houses in that area. Here's some pictures:

A way go to Gary's great grandfather house. Long way and you can drive faster.
No problemo, Amigos!

A turned way and a power line in the way. A quite way.

More close to the final destination. The village way.

A tree in the street. A lonely tree. Here no street lamps.

 Gary's great grandfather house.

Come to Gary's great grandfather house. We do some homework: take a ground water with hoe as drinking water deposit to our gallons. I was take some pictures also and just looking around. The ground maybe look drying because of the weather temperature itself, but in some animals like worm and mole was stay inside the ground. Oh I forgot to mentioned when I was there the temperature was crazy cold down and bitted to skin. I was wearing the army jacket to make my body warm enough. No jacket it means almost hypothermia outside there. Believe me! The jacket I borrowed from My good friend, Gary Wallace himself.

*Three successful way how to do a good homework specially when you're working outside
(don't do this at home - just joke. Hehehe):

Step #1: Spread the water to the ground.

Step #2: Do something with style.

Step #3: And stepped back and take a picture (again). Hehehe.
*In the balcony of Gery's great grandfather house.

Then we're going to back outside the house. It's a small river. They called Colorado river. The river I think bigger in someplace else (I was looking in the internet) but near Gary's great grandfather house the river is small. But it doesn't mean not good. After you look those pictures, I believe you will change your mind about river :-). Here's some pictures about our trip to that river:

How the river looks like. Covered by high grass.

Small way to go through the river in down way. Be careful slippery step.

One view straight on the Colorado river. Noticed there was a black bull.

Another view looking of the Colorado river. Quite river but beautiful.

After saw the river and looking around, we go back to car to come back to the Gary's great grandfather house and ready to go back to hotel. But in the middle of way between the river and the house we're founding a very interesting spot - a very good looking and beautiful place for take pictures. Here the photos I was taken:

I like this picture. Very good spot and angle :-).

A landscape viewing of the place. Sweet :-).

Those two photos was my last/ closed pictures for today's blog. It was a good trip to went around Houston, Sugar Land and Wharton - Once Upon A Time. Thanks to Gary Wallace and Mercy Matondang Wallace to came, picked me up and chance to saw all those good things.

And that's it my friends, thanks for visit & read this blogspot. Have a good & wonderful Sunday :-)!
